Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

Service operator

The Service is operated under the Utilavo brand, established 2024, as an independently operated web service. For service or terms enquiries, contact [email protected]. Full business identity disclosure is available on the About page.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Utilavo at utilavo.com (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. Together, they form the complete agreement between you and Utilavo regarding your use of the Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

Utilavo provides free, browser-based utilities for processing PDF documents, images, and developer data. No account or registration is required to use the Service.

Tools are divided into two processing models. Most tools (including PDF merge, split, rotate, and reorder; image-to-PDF and PDF-to-image conversion; and all developer tools) run entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device. Some tools (including image processing, document format conversions, PDF compression, and PDF/A conversion) require temporary server-side processing. Server-processed files are deleted immediately after the result is returned to your browser.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

  • Use the Service to process, distribute, or store content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes on third-party rights.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Use automated systems to make excessive requests in a manner that could degrade service availability for other users.
  • Misrepresent the origin of files or content you process through the Service.
  • Upload files that contain malware, viruses, or other malicious code intended to compromise the Service or other users.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service or its output without permission.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these terms.

4. Rate limits and fair use

To ensure fair access for all users, the Service enforces rate limits on server-based tools. If you exceed these limits, requests may be temporarily throttled or rejected. Rate limits are applied per IP address and reset automatically after a short period.

Individual file uploads are limited to a maximum of 50 MB. Files exceeding this limit will be rejected before processing begins.

These limits are designed to prevent abuse and maintain performance for all users. Normal, human-paced usage of the tools will not trigger rate limits under typical conditions.

5. Intellectual property

All code, design, and content comprising the Utilavo platform is owned by Utilavo or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. The Utilavo name, logo, and visual identity may not be used without prior written permission.

You retain full ownership of any files you upload or process through the Service. We do not claim any rights over your content, and we do not access, retain, or use your files beyond what is strictly necessary to deliver the requested tool output.

6. File processing and privacy

Files you process through Utilavo are your property and remain private. See our Privacy Policy for a full description of how your files and data are handled, including the distinction between browser-local processing and server-side processing.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to process files you upload. Do not upload files that contain sensitive personal data of others unless you have appropriate authorization to do so.

7. Output accuracy

While we strive for high-quality results, tool output may not be perfectly accurate in all cases. Document format conversions (such as PDF to Word) involve interpretation of layout and formatting that may differ from the original. Compression tools optimize for file size and may reduce visual quality. You should verify all output before relying on it for critical purposes.

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience only. We do not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites. You access third-party links at your own risk.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Tool results should be verified before use in critical applications.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Utilavo and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, corruption of documents, or business interruption. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Service is to stop using it.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Utilavo and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Modifications to the service and terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. We may add, change, or remove tools and features as we see fit.

We may also update these Terms of Service at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of the Service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

14. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the appropriate jurisdiction where Utilavo operates.
