What is PDF unlocking?
Removing a password from a PDF requires knowing it. This tool decrypts a document you can already open and writes out a clean copy — no prompt on opening, no print or copy restrictions attached.
Encryption is also the reason so many other tools refuse a file. Most PDF processors, including several on this site, cannot read an encrypted document at all, so unlocking is frequently a prerequisite step rather than an end in itself.
